Have you tried lifting a photo with acrylic medium? How long does it take?
It's a digital photo printed on an ink jet printer. I want it to stick to the clear acrylic medium so I can put that on a collage. I've never done this before but I know people have done it with magazine photos. When I put to much medium on, it makes a mess so now I'm building up thin layers. When it's thick and dry enough, can I just peal it off or should I wait a few days? What if the paper won't come off? Can I use water to get it off, or will that wash the ink away too?
I read and tried this a while back using a magazine picture. I brushed on the medium as one would varnish, let it dry, emerse it in water, let it soak and gently rub off the paper. Test it on a sample to see if you will get the result you are looking for.
