New Fall Decorating and Redecorating Ideas
There is a multitude of ways to decorate or redecorate your home for the fall and winter months. Whether you plan on restyling your entire home, or simply adding a few fall touches, here are some great decorating ideas for this fall.
- Whatever you add to your home, remember you can’t go wrong with fall colors. Burnt orange, burgundy, and brown are great for fall, but you can always use deep earth tones of green and gray as accents to the mix.
- If you have decided to buy new furniture, textured upholstery is very popular this season. You can get it in a neutral color, and its texture helps hide small stains a bit better. To spice things up a bit, add some brightly colored accent pillows, or even a throw blanket. Contrasting fabric textures are a really nice touch for the fall and winter seasons. And you’ll be happy to have the blanket easily accessible in those cold months.
- Maybe new furniture isn’t for you this time around, but you still want the feel of a big change. Purchase or make some great slipcovers for your couches and armchairs. You can choose from lots of different fabrics and designs to match the rest of your home décor. This way you don’t have to do anything drastic to get that same dramatic feel.
- Add a little berry or leaf garland to wall units for San Diego homes. String this around doorframes, banisters, and mantles for a really great fall touch.
- Create a centerpiece from scratch, much like a modern cornucopia. You can use pumpkins, gourds, dried flowers, or a bundle of wheat to make your home feel like fall in the country.
- Accent any empty space with creative candle decorations. Take one large, or a lot of very small candles and surround them with acorns, gourds, and fake leaves or branches for a little corner of nature in any common area of the house.
- The great thing about fall decorations is that they are easy to make dramatically elegant. Spray an old wreath with gold spray paint, or even target the individual sections or leaves with orange, red, or dark green spray paint for a new feel.
