Hair disaster, can i get my natural colour back?
So i had long, brown hair with natural sun bleached bits through the ends. I decided i wanted to go bright red so bought a permanent red colour. It turned my hair an auburn, but the roots were a lot lighter than the ends and the colour was really wish washy and patchy.
My hairdressed advised using a mahogany to darken it, which i have done and it does look better but the top 6'' of my hair are lighter than the bottom and ends, theres a really obvious band! I like the red colour at the top, so can i either match this, or get back to my natural colour?
The original dye contained peroxide, so under the mahogany will always be lightish red now wont it??
Contrary to what a lot of people think, there isn't any previous color sitting underneath the color that you have, that is your only color, your dyed or natural color aren't hiding underneath. What you need to do is to go to the salon and have them just fox the bottom part. They need to bleach it one or two levels and tone it, but I have to warn you that color matching is difficult and the chances that you will get it all the same are slim unless you bleach it all. Now you don't have to bleach it super high and cause all of the damage, just one level on the top and two on the bottom until they are even, then tone it with a semi-permanent color.
