How do I figure out how much to give my brother for a double pillowtop queen mattress?
It is five years old and part of the Berkshire Collection. He paid aaround $900.
Figure out how long the mattress is expected to last. If it would last 10 years, then it has lived half it's life. But the first half is usually better than the second half (for consumer goods, not necessarily for people), so figure maybe 2/3 to 3/4 of the value is gone, leaving $300 or $250 remaining value. Deduct more for poor condition.
