How do I record a drum cover video for Youtube with good quality without spending a lot of money?
I don't want to spend a bunch of money for drum mics. But I am willing to buy a computer mic. I have a webcam, but the audio quality is crap. I have Windows 7, so I have the newest version of Windows Movie Maker. So can anybody help me?
unfortunately, you wont be able to capture good, quality sound without a set of drum mics. if you MUST use only one cumputer mic, your best bet would be to put it up high, maybe level with the cymbals. that way you can capture most of the drums. but you wont be able to mix it, which is an issue with using only 1 mic. Ive done it before, right when i first started drumming. the sound is crap, but there was no youtube back when i was recording, so no one knew but me haha. i believe i just hammered a nail into the cieling, then hung the mic from there, just above the cymbals.
oh, and if you end up buying a mic, you might wanna check out some decent ones from a music store, versus a standard computer mic. an overhead mic would be ideal.
