Essay on Lincoln and Davis which explores their problems? HELP!?
Okay, so I was pair up with a partner to do 5/6 of the listed for my AP US History class. (I'm taking college classes as a 10th grader.) She told me she was going to do two, and I would do three.
WELL, she only did one. And so now she has left me with this essay one.
This is what we have to do.
Analysis: Both Lincoln and Davis were beset from within by their cabinets and by their constituents. Write and essay which explores their problems.
I kind of only half understand this.

Lincoln- didn't want to put the whole nation through war, but he was pushed to "hold the union together."
Davis- believed states should be allowed to split from the nation- but some didn't want war with the union to get it.
Keep in mind, many families were split. Southerners served in govt, and northerners had family in the south.
I hope that helps a bit.......Oh, and the AP class isn't a college class...unless you take the AP test at the end of the course. (Sounds simple, but many ppl didn't take the test when I was in school....15 yrs ago)
Southern states had weapons and agriculture, while North had factories. Both sides lacked what the other needed.
