Is Durahide Onyx a good material???
Is Durahide-Onyx a cheap material?I don't have the money to afford a brand new leather couch so this in another option for me. It is about 400 bucks for this one but if the material is not very good than I don't want to waste my money. I am afraid the material will crack, but is that normal wear and tear let's say if I had owned it for 10 + years??
I think Durahide is bicast. If this is the case it is made from split leather with a polyurethane top coating. This gives it a very shiny appearance. It is very hard wearing as long as it is looked after as body oils really destroy this. You need to use a very good quality Leather Protector (not a conditioner) on a regular basis to inhibit the absorption of body oils.
