I just looked into opening a Tim Horton's here in Buffalo, NY. Were flooded with them in the area so you'd have to be quite original on where to put one, down south may be lucerative. I have the franchise info right in front of me. Your looking at $500,000 just for the name, not including building, permits, taxes and anything else you need to get started. I have it estimated at close to $1,000,000 to get a franchise going. Even with a successful location, your looking at 3-4 years to recover that. Not to mention all the franchise owners I know put in a lot of hours working at their stores for a few years. Good luck to you!
