What frame is suitable for a white background photograph on a yellow wall ?
The wall in my living room is yellow in color and I have 2 photographs of mine which have a white background. When I laminated the pictures and hung on the wall, it did not look good. So now I am thinking of framing it? What colour and what frame do you think will look good. Also do u think it would be good if I frame it with a mount in the colour of the wall, but someone was telling me that was out of style now. I was personally thinking of framing it with a golden frame with no mounts.....Let me know what you think about it.
Gold is tricky - can look really tacky and dated if not done right. Not my preference in general, but the gold one's I do like have a thick straight edge frame with gold-leafing. My preference is for a basic black frame for photography. I wouldn't advise matching the matting to the wall colour, wall colours change. A basic white or black is suffice and looks very professional. To really make the pictures pop, use a LOT of matting. Framing can cost a fortune though. Some framing stores offer generic frames with matts and/or DIY assembly to save costs.
