Will Matthew Stafford save the Detroit Lions?
In 1958 Bobby Layne was traded by the Lions to the Steelers. He was so upset by it he supposedly put a curse on them to last 50 years. The end of the 2008 season it marked the 50th anniversary of the curse and the Lions have had the worst winning percentage of all the NFL teams.
Bobby Layne was a QB for Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas. Afterward he also played for the New York Bulldogs. Matthew Stafford is also a Highland Park alum and played for the Georgia Bulldogs.
If they do draft Stafford, will we see the Lions make a huge turn around next season?
Wow Kelly, I'm impressed! You have really done your homework.
But, no. Stafford can't save the Lions. In fact, if the Lions don't do something about their O-line, Stafford may have a short career if he gets drafted by the Lions. That would be a shame because I like Stafford. he's got good qb skills.
