How can I tighten flip flops?
I have very narrow feet and have trouble finding shoes and especially flip flops tight enough. I need flip flops because of arthritis. My regular size is too large and slips when I walk, and the smaller sizes are too short. I finally found a pair of leather top flip flops with comfortable soles but they are too large. How can I tighten them without sacrificing the comfortable soles?
Traditional flip flops usually have adjustable straps, so I'm guessing these are thong style (everyone wears them).
If you truly need a custom fit, you'll have to cut them apart and adjust the straps when you reassemble your shoes. That's probably not the brightest idea though.
Dr. Scholl's actually makes a thong flip flop insert that might be what you're looking for. It goes under the middle 'thong' strap where you big toe is, so maybe for the big shoe, it'll give you grip or lift your foot higher up, enough to fill the shoe.
Just in case I totally misinterpreted "flip flops" and these are open toed women's sandals, you could just wear socks to fill in bigger size shoes.
If you can explain exactly why you need specific shoes (why flip flops), maybe one of us could recommend another type of shoe?
