What to do with water in my legs and rash on my right leg?
After partial gastrectomy I have problem with water in my legs. There is water in both legs but on the right leg I have a rash between knee and ankle. The rash is getting bigger. Doctor gave me medication for the water but the medication doesn't working well. The surgery was on October 2008.
Any suggestion?
I think the water you refer to is edema. Try elevating your legs as much as possible, preferably above your heart when laying down. If this does not help along with the diuretic, you may need some type of compressions therapy such as ted hose or compression wraps. You need to see a doctor about this though, often is a sign of Congestive heart failure. Also the MD needs to assess the rash. Cellulitis is common with excessive dependent edema, and you would need antibiotics for it.
