Is it possible to dye nylon/polyester fabric into another color?

I was thinking to dye my polyester/nylon green-olive colored jacket into brown.
Is it possible to do that?
If so, what materials do I need to dye it from it's original color into brown?

Nylon dyes well; polyester only dyes at home with iDyePoly, available only in 8 colors. And then it's an only sometime thing.

Personally, I wouldn't expend the effort. Between interfacing, batting, zippers, buttons and other bits and pieces in a coat, something's likely to get messed up.
