Tv wall mount for bedroom?
I have a 32" westinghouse LED tv in my bedroom and would like to hear opinions on a wall mount. The room is about 10x10' and I can't decide if I should buy a swivel mount or a tilting mount. I plan on putting the tv on the long side wall where it can be seen from the bed, and then I will have a chair in the corner which I will move towards the center of the room next to the bed when I want to watch a movie or something. I am also in the near future buying a 5.1 system which is why I would want to be in the center of the room. I found a sanus tilting mount for 50 dollars on Amazon, and a full motion mount for 80. I think for my size of room a tilting mount makes sense but it will be viewed slightly from the side if I am laying in bed. This is hard to describe but what do other people have in their rooms?
The full motion mount obviously gives you the most flexibility. But when planning your wall-mount, make allowances for all the connections you'll need:
1. A.C. power
2. Signal source (i.e., an antenna cable, HDMI cable from a cable box, etc.)
3. HDMI cable from your DVD player, plus another one for your game box if you have one.
4. Cable(s) to your future surround sound system.
If you're going with all cables hidden in the wall, that's a serious job for someone with the right experience and tools. For less bother, park a shelf unit under the TV's location, which you can use for your peripheral equipment (surround sound amp, etc.), and let the cables drape down from the back of the set to the back of the shelf unit. Not pretty, but a whole lot simpler.
