I am trying to upgrade vista basic to windows 7 ultimate, but theres no upgrade option?
Ok i put the disk in and it loads up, when i did it on my laptop that had vista home premium there was an option to upgrade, but when i do it on the computer with vista home basic it goes straight to the partition section and dosent ask to upgrade. Why not?
You have to do the upgrade through vista while it is running
disable your anti-virus software and firewalls then while you are disconnected from the internet do the upgrade
Reinstall firewall and do windows updates
Microsoft wants you to do the windows updates 1st while your firewalls and virus protection is off
Do what you feel is safe
