Can you control a chasis fans speed is it is connected to the motheboard with a normal 3 pin plug?
At the moment my chasis fan runs full tilt whenever the computer is switched on but it is not plugged into the motherboard (just into the PSU) if I buy a new fan that plugs into the "CHA FAN" port on my motherboard will I be able to control its speed ?
it depends on your motherboard but some work with a program called speedfan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
that allows you to lower speeds based on tempurature readings
or you could get a manual controller and adjust the speed to your liking with a knob the fan plugs into the controll than to the supply through a 4 pin molex connector
