I want to take a picture of a dragon and make it look like a carving in wood?
I want an outword bevel though. Is there a tutorial on youtube(I don't know what to search for) that i can use to do this in gimp or even photoshop. I don't have photoshop but i would like to even get an idea for how i could do that. 
Try the Artistic & Distort filters of Adobe Photoshop CS4. I find CS4 way better than the gimp.
